How it works

  1. Contact Granitefield

Call or email us to discuss your situation and ask whether Senior Fraud Protection may be appropriate.

  2. Understand the options

Granitefield explains the available service levels, what is included, and the written permissions required before enrollment.

  3. Set up monitoring

If the service is appropriate, Granitefield helps coordinate setup after the required documentation and enrollment steps are complete.

  4. Receive the right level of support

Monitoring, review, reporting, and authorized follow-up occur only at the level described in the selected service agreement.

When something feels wrong

Concern often begins with a small change: an unfamiliar withdrawal, a new person asking for money, repeated gift-card purchases, missed bills, secrecy, confusion, or pressure to act immediately.

Senior Fraud Protection creates a structured way to monitor activity, review designated concerns, document actions, and identify whether monitoring remains appropriate or whether more hands-on help may be needed.

  • Unusual activity

Unexpected withdrawals, transfers, unfamiliar charges, or changes in routine spending may deserve prompt verification.

  • Pressure to act now

Requests for gift cards, cryptocurrency, wires, cash, verification codes, or secrecy are reasons to pause and independently verify before sending money.

  • A new request for money

A new or unfamiliar person asking for money, access to accounts, or private financial information may require careful review.

  • Financial confusion

Missed bills, duplicate payments, overdrafts, unopened mail, or repeated difficulty recognizing routine activity may mean monitoring alone is not enough.

What Granitefield does

  • Helps qualified clients set up selected monitoring and alert preferences.
  • Documents the client's contact preferences, authorized people, and escalation instructions.
  • May receive designated alerts when the client authorizes Granitefield to do so.
  • Provides the scheduled review, reporting, and coordination included in the selected service level.
  • Helps clients identify an appropriate next step when something requires attention.
  • Can discuss daily money management, fiduciary or POA administrative support, bank support, legal counsel, or other appropriate resources when monitoring is not enough.

What this service is not

Senior Fraud Protection is not bill pay, account management, a forensic investigation, legal representation, or emergency response. If a situation requires those services, Granitefield can help identify an appropriate next step.

You remain in control

We cannot move your money.

Senior Fraud Protection provides read-only monitoring and administrative response support. It does not authorize Granitefield to withdraw, transfer, spend, invest, freeze, or otherwise control money.

You decide whether Granitefield or another trusted person receives alerts and whether any additional information may be shared. Permissions can be updated or revoked.

For referral professionals

Senior Fraud Protection gives elder-law attorneys, care managers, fiduciaries, CPAs, financial professionals, and senior-living teams a clearly scoped option for older adults and families who want an added layer of oversight but are not yet ready for daily money management.

Granitefield can help determine whether monitoring, daily money management, legal planning, institution support, or another resource is the appropriate next step.

Reassurance for adult children—without taking over

You do not have to monitor every account or question every purchase. With the client's written permission, Granitefield can provide a structured process for monitoring, documentation, and appropriate follow-up—while the client remains in control of financial decisions.

Frequently asked questions

Will Granitefield control my accounts?
No. Senior Fraud Protection is read-only monitoring and administrative response support. Granitefield cannot move money or make financial decisions through this service.
Will my family see all of my information?
Only as you authorize. You decide who receives alerts and whether any additional information may be shared. Permissions can be updated or revoked.
What happens at night or on a weekend?
24/7 monitoring-platform customer care is included. If activity may be unauthorized, contact the financial institution immediately using a verified number. Granitefield provides the review and coordination included in your selected service agreement.
Can this stop every scam?
No. No monitoring system or professional service can identify or prevent every scam, identity event, transaction, delay, or loss.
What if money is moving right now?
Contact the bank, card issuer, brokerage, or other institution immediately using a verified number. If there is immediate danger, contact emergency authorities. Granitefield is not an emergency response service.
Why not just use my bank alerts?
Bank alerts are useful, and Granitefield encourages clients to use them. Senior Fraud Protection may add broader monitoring across eligible accounts, client-controlled alert sharing, and—at selected service levels—Granitefield review, documentation, and reporting.
Can I enroll my parent without them?
Senior Fraud Protection is designed to preserve the client's voice and control. Enrollment, information sharing, and alert permissions require the appropriate client authorization or valid legal authority.
What if monitoring is not enough?
Granitefield can separately discuss daily money management or fiduciary and POA administrative support when bills, paperwork, account organization, reporting, or authority-based help becomes necessary. Those services require a separate written agreement and, where applicable, appropriate legal authority.
